Life is an Adventure

Have you ever wanted to go on amazing trip but just never quite got round to organising your adventure? Life won’t wait for you, don’t wait until it is to late. Life is an Adventure!

“Life is either a daring adventure or nothing”

I want to give you an example of an adventure that I organised last year to inspire you to organise your own. I decided that I really wanted to see the Taj Mahal. I had seen lots of photos and I just thought that it looked magnificent and what an experience it would be to see the real deal. I started by investigating where the Taj Mahal actually was, in terms of where the nearest airport was and what the hotels were like around the area. It turned out that flying to New Delhi from London took 8 hours and then Agra, which is where the Taj Mahal is located is a three hour drive away.

My husband was a bit limited in terms of annual leave from work and told me that he could only take one day off. I thought that this was a challenge, but I like a challenge, so I continued with my investigations. It turns out that the flight times made it possible to fly on a Thursday evening, arriving in New Delhi at 8am on the Friday morning and there was a flight back on Sunday evening arriving back in London at 7am on the Monday morning. This would mean three full days on the ground. Next thing you know I have booked the flights and a fabulous hotel for two nights, booked a driver and a tour guide for the three days and that was that.

People told us that we were crazy to go to India for only two nights, but all I can say is that we didn’t think it was crazy and we got to see the magnificent Taj Mahal. We both agreed that it was one of the best weekends of our lives! As stated by the title of this article, life is an adventure!

“When I am old and dying, I plan to look back on my life and say wow that was an adventure”

Here are some steps you should take to organise your own adventure:

  1. Start by producing a list of all the adventures that you would like to go on.
  2. Prioritise this list.
  3. Pick one of the the top items on this list.
  4. Break this item down into all the things you have to consider. For example, flights, hotels, saving money, annual leave from work etc.
  5. Select a date for your adventure to start.
  6. Work backwards from your start date and put dates next to all the things you need to organise.
  7. Start booking.
  8. Enjoy your adventure, you deserve it!

“Don’t wait for everything to be perfect for you to enjoy your life”

I am huge believer in making stuff happen and the fact that anyone can achieve anything they set their mind to.

I hope I have motivated you to book your own adventure. Let’s face it, this is what life is all about.
